Johannesburg - Media personality Minnie Dlamini has resigned from hosting the popular local sports show SoccerZone to focus on her business ventures.

The television star has been co-hosting the SABC sports show for the past four years.

She said in a statement that she values time she spent at the Monday night interactive soccer show and that she will miss those she worked with.

“I have loved my time with the SABC sport family and will miss them dearly.”

“It pains me to realise that I won't be seeing my Thom Thom (Thomas Mlambo) and Dr Mnandi (Siphiwe Mkhonza) every Monday as they have become family.”

But the local beauty said she now needs to focus on her business projects.

“I need to grow and explore various opportunities in entertainment and business,” she said.

“I'm super excited about 2017 and working very hard to make it a success.”

Dlamini will return to SABC screens in March next year when she hosts The Tropika Island of Treasure.

Her publicist Jarred Doyle said she is currently overseas working on a project and is set to return to the country on Thursday.
